House of Representatives visit Jos to assess level of Digital Switch Over (DSO)

Members of House of representative led by Hon. Sunday Mashal Katung have appreciated the Plateau State Government for its contributions in the development and success of the digital switch over launched in the state last year.

Hon. Sunday Marshal Katung made the commendation last Friday during a courtesy call on Governor Simon Bako Lalong at the Government House, Rayfield, Jos. He said they were in Jos to assess the level of the digital switch over in regard to a lot of petitions received on the takeoff and transmission of the programme.

According to him, following the receipt of the petitions, the House decided to setup the ad-hoc Committee with a view to get things right, which necessitated the visit to the state where the digital pilot programme started.

He pointed out that it(the Committee) would ensure that areas that needed improvement would be looked into.In his response, Governor Simon Bako Lalong said the state government will continue in its effort to support the Digital Switch over programme by way of funding as well as a support to its Radio Station, Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTV) for the success of the digital switch over.

He said, the state cherishes the Federal Government in upholding history by flagging the Digita lSwitch Over of the Country in Jos, plateau state Capital.

Lalong however, promised to see that the Digital Switch Over gets to all the Local government areas of the state.While appreciating them for the visit, the Governor urged them to make good of their visit by going round the state to see for themselves the peaceful nature and tourism potentials of the state.
