9th House of Representatives of Nigeria winds down after passing 2,232 bills in four years

The House of Representatives at its valedictory plenary on Wednesday, June 8, 2023, disclosed through the Chairman of the Committee on the Rules and Business, Hon. Abubakar Fulata that they have passed a total of 2,232 bills in four years.

According to him, 58 were proposals from the Executive Arm of the Federal Government, 2,017 were private Member Bills, while 107 were transmitted from the Senate for concurrence, and he also said that the House, within the period passed a total of 2,000 resolutions.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, in his valedictory speech, thanked the almighty God and his dear colleagues, for the honour and privilege of serving as Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives for the last four years and also, tasked members of the incoming House to ensure they carry on with the legacies of the outgoing Assembly

The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Wase also expressed his gratitude to  Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila for the opportunity to work closely with him as his Deputy in the 9th Assembly and wished him the very best on his new appointment as Chief of Staff to the President and Commander-in-Chief, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

While thanking his colleagues for their support and cooperation, he also appreciated the Management and Staff of the National Assembly including the Media and Press corps for creating the enabling environment for amplifying the Legislative Business of the House.
