Abducted Abia Journalist regains freedom

FIC Report (Abia State) – Abia State Journalist, Chucks Onuoha, yesterday regained his freedom from kidnappers and had united with his family at Umungasi Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia state, after spending four nights at the kidnappers’ den.

Chucks Onuoha of All Facts Newspaper in Umuahia and the former Abia State Correspondent of Sun Newspapers was kidnapped at his Umungasi Ohuhu family home in Umuahia North local government area of Abia state at about 9.45 p.m on Tuesday night, according to family sources.

It will be recalled that Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the umbrella of Journalists had mounted pressure on the Abductors of their Member to release him unconditionally.

Narrating his ordeal, Mr. Chucks Onuoha thanked all in the Media for the assistance showered on him during his incaceration period and the Church for prayers on his behalf.

As at press time, we are yet to know if the family paid any ransom before he was released as the Kidnappers placed 10 million on him.
The hoodlums used his ATM to empty his account as well as withheld his Android phone.
