FIC Report (Abia State) – Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has fulfilled his earlier stated promise to the recently launched ABIA YOUTHS ROAD MAINTENANCE CORPS made up of young Abia engineers drawn from the 17 Local Government Areas of the State.

Their mandate is to ensure that roads across urban areas in the State which had been completed and commissioned are maintained on a regular basis and rid of potholes.

Experience shows that it is from these little potholes that the failure of these roads start if there are no maintenance culture .

They had undergone series of trainings from classroom theoritical works to actual practical sessions.

The State Government provided them with light road maintenance equipment for their work.

The young Engineers hit some parts of Aba for the very first time.

As the rains abate, they will move from one place to another delivering the services for the good of our people.

The plan is to keep them steadily on our roads.

This is a reminder of the old days of the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT and it is a great initiative.
