APCON Mopping Up Qualified Civil Servants for Registration

The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) says it is already mopping up federal civil servants, with relevant qualifications, for registration as APCON members.

Its Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Olalekan Olumuyiwa Fadolapo, stated this when he led a delegation to visit the corporate office of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), in Abuja.

While noting that the collaboration between between APCON and BPSR is very strategic, he said in the process of reforming the public service, there is need to ensure that strategic communication plays its role.

Assuring that APCON will partner with BPSR to give them more visibility, Dr. Fadolapo, said: “We are here to support you and to develop communication strategies that will address your immediate needs.”

Responding, Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, the Director General of BPSR, called on the APCON Registrar and his management team to harness the local resources endowed the nation, in carrying out their statutory mandates.

Arabi, disclosed that their Bureau also supported and participated actively in the 1st and 2nd Editions of Nigeria Public Sector Branding Summit and Exhibition/Awards, which was jointly organized by APCON and Brandmarks Consultant in Abuja.

“I wish to reiterate the commitments of the Bureau in supporting APCON, to ensure that the Inter – Ministerial Technical Working Committee works assiduously towards driving conversations around branding and brand management in the public sector, chart new courses of action, and strategies that will drive best practices towards effective and efficient public service,” said the BPSR Director General.
