Arabi presents 1st position award to the Federal Ministry of Information & Culture

Ag. DG, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Ibrahim Arabi has presented the 1st position award to the Federal Ministry of Information & Culture. The ceremony took place at the Permanent Secretary’s conference room, Federal Ministry of Information & Culture where the Permanent Secretary, Deaconess Grace Ise Gekpe received the award on behalf of the Minister.

In his opening remarks, the Ag. DG expressed gratitude to the Permanent Secretary, members of the Inter- Ministerial Task Team (IMTT), R2K and other stakeholders present. He then gave a synopsis of the scorecard ranking and the selection process.

Arabi reiterated that the reactions from the ranked MDAs as well as the public were much anticipated. He equally stated that the essence was to encourage Public Institutions to upgrade their websites in line with the vision to achieving a conducive environment for the development of businesses in Nigeria.

Speaking further, the Ag. DG solicited a buy-in from the Federal Ministry of Information through the Perm. Secretary to partner with BPSR in subsequent reform programmes.

The high point of the event was the presentation of the award to the top winner in the website ranking which was carried out mid-year in 2018. The Permanent Secretary was delighted to receive the honor and expressed satisfaction at the efforts of BPSR and other members of the IMTT. She said it is the collective hard work of the staff of the Ministry and promised to keep up with the achievement. The PS. also mentioned that the essence of such an event is to encourage public Servants and Public Institutions to do more.

She equally enjoined the Ag. DG to ensure that the various reform programmes being carried out by the Federal Government through the Bureau is put in the public space for citizens’ awareness and appreciation.
