CP Abutu Yaro assumes duty as the new Commissioner of Police Edo State Police Command

FIC Report (Edo State) – A new Commissioner of Police has assumed duty in the Edo State Police Command. He is CP Abutu Yaro, Fdc.

CP Abutu Yaro, who is the 44th Commissioner of Police in the State, is a fellow of the National Defence College and a member of International Chief of Police.

An alumnus of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria,

CP Abutu Yaro was enlisted into the Nigeria police force in 1988 as a cadet assistant superintendent.

He has served in various capacities within the Force which includes; 2 i/c Mopol 16 Abeokuta, 2 I/C Mopol Unit Presidential Villa Abuja, DPO Igando, Ojo-Alaba, Onikan, Bode Thomas all in Lagos State, Area Commander Warri, Delta State, Area Commander Bori-Ogoni Rivers State, AC Operations, FCT Command, Abuja, Commander Counter-Terrorism Training School, Nonwa, Port Har-Court Rivers State, Area Commander Gwagwalada Abuja FCT, Commanding Officer Mopol 42 Gusau, Zamfara state. DCP Financial Malpractice, Investigation Unit, Lekki, Lagos State, DCP X-Squad FCID Headquarters, Area 10 Abuja, DCP General Investigation Department, FCID, Alagbon, Lagos State, CP Imo and Zamfara States.

Until his recent redeployment, he was the CP Provost Marshal, Force Headquarters Abuja.

The new CP, as a seasoned police officer has attended many professional courses within and outside Nigeria which includes, Higher Defence and Strategic Studies Course National Defence College Abuja, Senior Command Course, Police Staff College Jos, Plateau state, Junior Command Course, Police Staff College Jos, Plateau state.

CP Abutu Yaro who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree is happily married and has children.

The new Police boss has assured residents of Edo State of commitment/dedication and professionalism in discharging his duty.

He also appealed for continuous cooperation and support from the general public to enable the police discharge their duties of protecting lives and property.
