Edo Government Earmarks N2 Billion To Boost Security

Determined to boost security of lives and property in Edo state, the Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has earmarked the sum of N2 billion for the State Security Trust Fund.

The Governor in a statement in Benin City revealed that the fund will strengthen the security frameworks in the state ahead of the expected upsurge of social – political activities in the state in 2020

He said “2020 will be another election year in Edo State and we will ensure that there is peace and security during the contestation. As part of our programme to ensure sustainable security, we have earmarked N2bn for the State’s Security Trust Fund”.

The Governor further stated that the Security Trust Fund will also raise funds from businesses and citizens in order to bolster the state government’s ability to secure the people more effectively

While pledging to uphold the people’s trust and continously stand for their collective interests, Mr Godwin Obaseki also assured the people of Edo State that his administration will not relent in its efforts at infrastructural renewal, industrialization and social development programmes which are currently going on across the entire state.

He stressed that his administration is committed to fixing roads, rebuilding schools, facilitating expansion of existing businesses and ensuring a vibrant, boisterous state that all be proud to be associated with.
