Edo Govt Collaborates with siemens Oxfam, to empower youths

The Edo State Skills Development Agency, popularly called EdoJobs in conjunction with Siemens, Oxfam, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Coven Labs and Market Development in Niger Delta (MADE) hastrained and empowered no fewer than 29,269 youths across the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State.

Chatting with journalists in Benin City, the Managing Director of EdoJobs, Mrs. Ukinebo Dare, remarked that the agency was working to augment Governor Godwin Obaseki’s efforts towards creating 200,000 jobs at the end of his first term in office.

The youths have undergone training on various skills including GSM and laptop repair, POP tiling and paint production, fashion and designs, system design and installation, among others.

Some of the participants were provided with stipends, starter packs and business support packages, while several others were sent to employers for internship and employment after the training period.

The EdoJobs extensive skills development programmes across the state have afforded the youths to acquire skills both in theory and practice.
