FG approves activities to mark Nigeria’s 61st Anniversary-Minister

The Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed has stated that President Buhari has approved activities lined up to mark the 61st Independence Anniversary Celebration. He made this statement on Friday 24th September 2021, at the World Press  conference held at the National Press Centre  as part of the activities to mark Nigeria @61 celebration.

The Minister who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Adaora Ifeoma Anyanwutaku, said the Independence Day Celebration was a joyous occasion for all Nigerians to appreciate the efforts of our forebears at gaining independence from the colonial masters, adding that Nigerians should appreciate the varied contribution of successive administration in building nation state.

 He stated that President Buhari’s administration is avowed and determined to bequeath the nation of a long-lasting legacy of improved infrastructural facilities and a better economy.

The Minister informed that activities marking the 60th year-long Diamond Jubilee Independence Anniversary Celebration, which would terminate 30th September, 2021 was arranged to dovetail into the 61st Independence Anniversary.

He further outlined the activities that will take place at the event, which includes interdenominational Church Service, Special Award Ceremony/ Discover Nigeria, Anniversary Parade and Juma’t Service. He appreciated the Press and urged them, to give widespread coverage and publicity to Nigerians at home, in diaspora and the globe.
