FG mourns the death of Powerlifter, Ndidi Nwosu

The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development wishes to commiserate with the family of Nwosu over the sudden death of NDIDI NWOSU, a para powerlifter who represented her country Nigeria excellently at different international competitions winning several medals in the course of her sojourn.

Mrs. Ndidi died on 23rd of March 2020 from prolonged lung infection which she had been treating for close to 2 years.

While expressing our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy with the Family of our iconic powerlifter, the Youth and Sports Minister, Mr Sunday Dare, recalled and extolled the podium performances of NDIDI NWOSU, which etched and ranked the name of her fatherland- Nigeria- amongst the countries parading great Para powerlifters on the international scene. Most prominent amongst this was the Commonwealth Games in Australia 2018 where she emerged Gold Medalist.

Nigeria, the Ministry and the sporting family will forever remember her as a patriot, committed to the cause of advancing her fatherland in the annals of Para Power lifting competitions globally.
