The Award Recipients in the Department of Information, Deputy Director information, Mrs. Eno Olotu, Director, information, Mr. Theodore Ogaziechi (C) and Chief Information officer, Mr. Ezeaja Ikemefuna, during the 3rd Annual Best Staff Award Ceremony, held on 15 December, 2020,at Agricultural Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), in Apo, Abuja.
 
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development, Dr. Abdulkadir Mu’azu has stated that rewarding system instituted in the extant civil service would enhance efficient and effective service delivery in Performance of Duties. He also said that the award for 60 Staff would encourage growth, quick response to issues and productivity in the system
 
Dr. Abdulkadir Mu’azu stated this during the 3rd edition of the Annual Best Staff for Deserving Staff on Tuesday 15th December, 2020, held at the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), in Apo, Abuja.He noted that ‘’ if the public service must continue to be at its best in delivering effective and efficient services, we must encourage the reward system for outstanding performance’’.
 
He said the present administration is committed to ensuring that government programmes are properly implemented and will therefore do everything possible to motivate and re-position the Civil Service.
 
Dr Mu’azu stated  that ‘’ the Ministry has continued to reposition itself despite of challenges the sector has faced in recent times such as the herdsmen-farmers’ clashes, flood incidences, terrorism, production loss arising from pest and diseases and COVID 19 pandemic among others. The landmark achievements recorded by the Ministry could not have been possible without the ingenuity of the Staff and other stakeholders in the sector’’.
 
The Perm Sec. informed that ‘’ the Ministry has  delivered over 50% of this year’s budget creditably even while we recognize that more work still need to be done’’.  
 
He further said that ‘’ we must not rest on our laurels as much is expected from this Ministry. We are to provide food security, create jobs and reduce poverty’’.
He assured that the Management on its part will continue to do its best in motivating the staff in order to enhance optimum performance for effective service delivery.
 
He congratulated all officers honored for their selfless services to the nation and hoped that the recognition for the award will spur them to greater productivity.
In her goodwill message, the National Coordinator, SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, represented by Mrs. Stella Benson tasked the Awardees to maintain the tenets of Service delivery in discharging their duties and promised that SERVICOM would support the ministry to ensure service delivery.
 
In her vote of thanks, the Acting Director, Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement Department in the Ministry, Mrs Gertrude Oji  informed that  ‘’the award is in two categories . Category A is for officers on GL 14-17 while the second category B is for GL 03 -13, two categories, who were carefully scrutinized by the Ministerial SERVICOM Committee (MSC) and have been found outstanding in the performance of their duties’’. She added that they were drawn from all the Departments, including the offices of the Hon. Ministers, Permanent Secretary and the Six Zonal Offices of the ministry. 
 
The list of the awardees, Category A includes; Mrs Eno Olotu, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed ,Mr. Anthony Akpan ,Engr. Oseni Ganiyu , while the Category B have Mr. Ezeaja Ikemefuna ,Mrs Lilian Ibiam , Rufus Aina ,Mr. Efosa Agho, among others.
 
 The Highlight of the Occasion was the presentation of a Trophy by the Permanent Secretary to the Federal Department of Agriculture (FDA) as the best Responsive Department.
