The Honourable Minister of Health, Dr.Osagie Ehanire and the entire Management and staff of Federal Ministry of Health received with great sadness the announcement of the death of the former Minister of Health, Dr. Haliru Alhassan who reportedly died 10th May, 2020 after a brief illness, aged 66.

The Honourable Minister, Management and Staff express our deep sympathy and condolence to the family and friends of the late Dr. Haliru Alhassan who served as the Minister of Health between March, 2015 and May, 2015.

The late Dr. Haliru Alhassan who hailed from Sokoto State also served as the Minister of State for Health between February, 2014 and May, 2015.

Dr. Haliru Alhassan attended the Medical University, Plovdiv, Bulgaria between 1982 and 1988 before proceeding to study for a Masters’ Degree in Tropical Paediatrics at Liverpool school of Tropical Medicine from 1994 to 1995.
