FIC Report (Abia STate) – Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has stressed the need for Christians to obey and respect God so as to receive bountiful blessings and partake in his kingdom.
Governor Ikpeazu who was speaking as Special Guest of Honour while formally declaring open the Centenary Celebrations of the Adventist Mission in Eastern Nigeria, held at their Union Conference Headquarters, Udeagbala Road, Umueze, Osisioma Ngwa LGA, prayed for greater exploits for the Church.
The Governor prophesied that the glory of the later house shall be greater than the former and prayed that the next century of the church will surpass whatever achievements it has recorded in the past presently.
Governor Ikpeazu said it was his expectation that Adventists will be part of the kingdom of God that is devoid of sickness, disease,deceit, treachery, betrayal, murder and other social vices.
Earlier in a Sermon, the Guest Minister and President of the West African Division of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Professor Robert Osei-Bonsu urged Christians to be conscious of the second coming of Jesus Christ knowing our place in the kingdom, charging all to remain Ambassadors of Christ in words and in action.
The service, which drew a mammoth crowd of Adventists from the 9 states of the South East and South South Nigeria featured baptism of new converts as conducted by President of the Eastern Union Conference of the Church, Pastor Professor Bassey Udoh, was attended by the Wife of the Governor , Dr. Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, Elder Emma Adaelu and several other eminent Adventists.
