Ikpeazu pledges N10m too MOUAU to upgrade the Institution’s Health Facility

FIC (Abia State) – Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has promised to release the sum of Ten Million Naira (₦10,000,000) for the upgrade of the health facility at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

Governor Ikpeazu who made this known on Friday, when he received in audience at the Governor’s lodge in Aba, the Executive of the Students Union Government, the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike led by their President, Comrade Chukwuma Ogochukwu said the money is to assist in improving the health facility in the institution to enable the Students to have access to quality healthcare services.

He equally directed the Commissioner for Works, Elder Bob Ogu to engage the Contractor handling the Umuahia – Ikot-Ekpene road to ensure that the bad spots along the road are repaired to ease movement of motorists and heavy-duty trucks that ply the road on daily basis.

Disclosing that his administration has taken concrete steps towards uplifting the educational standard of the State, Governor Ikpeazu urged the Students to be committed to their studies and always adopt the method of dialogue in all their engagements.

Earlier in his speech, the SUG President, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Comrade Chukwuma Ogochukwu who described Governor Ikpeazu as the most Student-friendly Governor said they came to thank him for coming to their rescue when they cried out to him over the deplorable state of the Umuahia – Ikot-Ikpene road.Ikpeazu pledges N10m too MOUAU to upgrade the Institution's Health Facility

Comrade Ogochukwu appreciated the Governor for his swift response to ensuring that palliative works were carried out on the road even though it is a Federal road.

In a vote of thanks, the Speaker, Students Representative Council MOUAU, Chimezie Goodnews thanked Dr. Ikpeazu for the way he is piloting the affairs of the state and for his love for students.

The visit which featured the presentation of a Thank-You letter to the Governor by the SUG President MOUAU attracted the presence of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Comrade Chibuzor Ndom among other top government officials.
