Ikpeazu renames ASUBEB Building after Late Sir Micah Onyebuchi as he Eulogizes him

FIC Report (Abia State) – The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has described Late Sir Micah Onyebuchi as an Icon, Father, Mentor and Leader who contributed immensely to the development of Abia State.

The Governor who was speaking at the funeral service of Late Sir Micah Onyebuchi held at the Amuzukwu Girls Secondary School, Umuahia stated that the late Elder Statesman ran a good race and left solid legacies and indelible footprints on the sands of time.

He further said that the deceased deserves to rest and prayed God to grant his family the Amuzukwu Community and Abia State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Governor said in recognition of the contributions of late Sir Micah Onyebuchi to the development of the education sector and to immortalize his name , his administration has resolved to name the ASUBEB Headquarters Building at Ogurube layout, Umuahia after him. The Building shall henceforth be known as the Pa Micah Onyebuchi ASUBEB Building.

He also charged his family to hold on to the virtues of their late father.

In a sermon earlier, the Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Uche reminded the living that death is inevitable stressing that all should prepare for heaven as after death comes judgement.

The Methodist Prelate revealed that those who have done well will enjoy eternal life and implored all to live righteously.

In a biography, the family described their late father as a legend, an enigma with several hats who made tremendous impact in the Nigerian education sector, immediate environment and the Christian community leaving behind a legacy of integrity , diligence, discipline and philanthropy.

Late Sir Micah Ezejinkeya Onyebuchi who died at the age of 90 years is survived by his wife Lady Felicia Ihekerenma Onyebuchi, five Children including the Medical Director (MD), Federal Medical Center (FMC) Umuahia, Professor Azubuike Onyebuchi and host of other relations.

The Deputy Governor Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, the immediate past Governor of the State and Senator representing Abia Central, Senator T.A.Orji, the Governorship CandidateS in the State and host of other Stakeholders in the Abia polity attended the ceremony.
