As a way of recognizing hard work and productivity which are in line with the tenets of the Federal Civil Service, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachickwu has rewarded the best performing staff from his ministry and its agencies as a way of boosting the morale of his staff and by extension, improving productivity in the Oil and Gas sector.

The reward came in form of gifts, Ministerial handshake, and photographs.

According to the Minister, the globally acclaimed achievement of his administration in turning around the Oil and Gas sector could not have been achieved without the creativity, ingenuity and harmonious relationship that existed between the workforce in his Ministry and its agencies.

Kachikwu pointed out that the criteria that was adopted was global best practices which included:

  • Demonstration of excellence in performing assigned tasks and targets
  • Promoting positive morals through congenial supportive attitudes and providing services to others
  • Self-improvement/development and for colleagues and subordinates.
  • Vision of cognitive initiative and creativity resulting in improved efficiency and cost reduction/profitability to the entire organization.
  • Overall performance across service value chain

The Minister, while thanking the awardees for their outstanding performance challenged other members of staff to borrow a leaf from the award recipients so as to stand a chance of being considered in subsequent rounds of awards.

Those honored included: Ibrahim Musa Suleiman-Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ahmadu Hamman Sambo (NNPC), Charity Humuri (NNPC), Farouq Shuaib Iman (DPR), Olubisi Okunola (NCDMB), Fatai Oseni (PER (M) B), Yusuf Mu’azu (PPPRA), Olaleye Temilope (PTDF), Yakubu Roseline Ashogba (PTDF), Dr. EL-Ladan Abdulazeez Dauda (PTI), and Isa Sambo (NNRA).

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Dr. Folashade Yeni Esan while thanking the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources for the laudable initiative which according to her, in line with the Federal Civil Service reward scheme, assured the Minister that the workforce under her watch, will continue to put in their best to achieve the overall mission and vision of the Ministry and its agencies. She assured all members of the ministry and its agencies that the highlighting key achievements and staff awards has come to stay.
