Kano Economic City Takes-off December 2019

KANO ( FIC KANO)  Mr. Afolabi Muhyideen, the field engineer at the Multi-Billion Naira Kano Economic City situated in Dangwauro town of Kumbotso local Government area, has assured the Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during a site inspection recently, that the project is set to take- off, in December, 2019.

  “All things being equal the phase one of this will take off by December this year, 2019. And we are doing our best to make this a reality’’.

 “As we promised when I was coming to the office in 2015, that my administration would complete all abandoned projects by the previous regimes. This is because we believe that the projects, when completed would benefit our people’’, the Governor

 Kano State according to the Governor, is fast becoming a modern economic city, striving to bring back its past glory on the global economy. ” Kano was not only the commercial nerve center of Northern Nigeria, it was a giant amongst many West African States, Kano is taking back that position under our leadership”. Ganduje reaffirmed.

The statement stated that there are ten thousand (10, 000) shops in the market, under phase one, with 38 world standard warehouses, 280 trailer park spaces, Inland Container Land (ICL) with 200 Trucks capacity spaces and 202 trucks parking spaces, among others.

Also, it said there are 43 Grain silos in place, 4 filling stations, two (2) would be Mega stations and the remaining two (2) would be normal stations. There is space for large scale industries for processing leather, meat and other identified commodities, in a modern way.

Pharmaceutical space is provided in the market for drug marketers, which the Governor sees as bringing more succor to the Federal Government policy of selling drugs in regulated areas.

The Engineer, Mr. Afolabi Muhuyideen says “The pharmaceutical areas in the market would also have offices of all Agencies that are concerned with drug regulation like the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) among others.

Muhuyideen revealed that they were in touch with all the leadership of Kano markets, whose activities have direct connection with the newly emerging global economic city, “And they showed their readiness to come over to the new economic city when it takes off, with passion”, he disclosed.
