Labour Minister Says Negotiation With Union Ongoing, Reconvenes on October 4th

ABUJA – (Labour & Employment Ministry Report) – The Minister of Labour & Employment, Chris Ngige has said that the meetings held so far with industrial unions over the impending strike action has been successful as both the Federal Government team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and the leadership of the organised Labour have agreed to reconvene the meeting of the National Minimum Wage Tripartite Committee on Thursday, 4th October 2018.

According to the release from the Labour Ministry’s Publicity Department lately, the decision to reconvene on Thursday, October 4th 2018 aims to give enough time for the Income, Salaries and Wages Commission to round off the assignment given to it.

“As a result, Labour has agreed to reach out to its organs of leadership with the October 4th resumption date as demanded by its NEC, with a view to suspending the proposed strike,” the report said.
