ABUJA – (Federal Ministry of Labour & Employment Report) – The Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, William Alo has described as imperative to reposition the staff of the Ministry through attitudinal change and commitment to rendering effective and transparent service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary who was represented by the Director of Legal Services in the Ministry, Ijeoma Ndukwe (Barr) made this statement in his welcome address at a one day sensitization forum tagged: “Management of Public Service Reform and Change Management” organized for the Directorate staff in the Ministry in consultation with Service Compact (Servicom).

According to the Permanent Secretary, the importance of sensitizing the staff on the Management of Public Service Reforms and Change Management is hinged on the fact that the staff serves as the first point of call by citizens requiring vital information on the services rendered by the Ministry.

According to Alo, the sensitization workshop will provide a veritable platform for cross – fertilization of ideas and experiences for acquiring first-hand knowledge as well as building the required synergy and capacity to render service effectively, efficiently and timely.

He urged the management staff to be open – minded in imbibing fresh ideas from facilitators, while providing options and contributions on the need to have a reformed Federal Civil Service.

Issues deliberated at the workshop comprised: the Roles of Management in Service Delivery, Leadership Style and Change Management and Leaving A Legacy. Â
