Minister bags SDGs’ Champion Award

The Honourable Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba has been given an award as SDG Champion by the United Nations (UN) at the UN House Abuja.

Receiving the award, the Minister appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for the privilege given to him to serve in his cabinet and therefore dedicated the award to him.

He said it was a rewarding experience to be part of the progress recorded regarding SGDs implementation in Nigeria.

He reiterated that his office as a Minister availed him the opportunity to work on a wide range of initiatives that allowed him to contribute to attaining the SDGs in Nigeria.

He further stated that he was fortunate to be a part of some truly remarkable endeavors towards achieving the 2030 Global Development Agenda, among others.

Resident Coordinator, UN Nigeria, Matthias Schmale described the Minister as courageous, disciplined, transparent and tactful in staying connected to the people in as much possible way as he could.

According to him, the Minister deserved the  award  because he was seen as a credible and reliable partner who was result oriented, had high value for money, especially the one generated in Nigeria.

He extolled the Minister’s sense of humor and his ability to make people comfortable around him.

Highlight of the event included citation of the minister read by Dr Lanre Adekanye, Director, International Cooperations.
