patriotism with due diligent service to their homeland

Sunday Dare, who received the Dream Team at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on September 1st, 2019, stated that as a team of champions they have proven their talents and made the country proud.

The Minister informed them that the Ministry intends to keep them together to increase their energy level for future qualifiers and engagements.
He commended their professionalism, saying that the outcome from Morocco indicates what we should expect from the Team in Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Japan.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olusade Adesola, who spoke earlier, thanked the athletes for their dedication and resilience throughout the games, adding that the level of discipline manifested by the Team is commendable and responsible for the success achieved in the games.

He affirmed that the country progressed steadily unlike other African countries to arrive at the second position, stressing that this is an indication that the efforts of the government over the years are yielding desired results.

Olusade Adesola further stated that though the target set for the athletes was a voluntary one, they equally worked to build up their careers and not just working for the country.

Team Nigeria finished with the second position after Egypt at the 12th Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco with an impressive 46 Gold, 33 Silver and 47 Bronze medals, totaling 126 medals.
