National Security: OSGoF Sparks National Conversation to Aggregate Intelligence

As part of its mandates in providing solution options for various sectors of the Nigerian Economy, the Office of the Surveyor General of the Federation (OSGoF) will spark a national conversation to aggregate intelligence to further boost the war against armed criminals in the country.

A memo signed by the Deputy Director heading the Survey Coordination Department of the Office, Surv. Semiu Ayinde, experts and professionals in surveying and geoinformatics and related fields would converge at the African Regional Institute for Geospatial Information Science and Technology (AFRIGIST) situated in the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State in the coming week to ventilate on the requisite geospatial information required to boost the war against armed criminals threatening national security.

Surv. Ayinde mentioned that the Surveyor General of the Federation (SGoF), Surv. Abudulganiyu Adeyemi Adebomehin has graciously endorsed the theme, “Geospatial Intelligence for National Security” for the Surveyor Coordination Conference and Meeting of the Advisory Board on Survey Training.

The theme is expected to provoke the desire discourses which would spur informed policies and actions that are pragmatic to inspire robust security network system for enhanced protection of lives and property as major priority area of the Federal Government.

OSGoF appreciates the prevalent security challenge which is telling much on our commonwealth hence the commitment of the incumbent administration that has been budgeting huge amounts of monies in mobilizing both human and materials resources to adequately deal with the insecurity in both overt and covert operations.
It is the pledge of OSGoF to collaborate with relevant authorities to achieve durable security system and an atmosphere for sustainable development.

Expected to be at the conference which would be chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the OAU, are the Executive Governor of the Osun State, the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, and the Oni of Ife among other personalities.
