NDE Commences Training of 1000 Youths In Kano

KANO (FIC Kano) – The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of 1000 unemployed youths and women in various trades under its Advanced and Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (NOAS) in Kano.

The scheme’s State Coordinator, Alhaji Iliyasu Ahmed, disclosed this during an orientation ceremony organized for the beneficiaries of the programme.

He said the beneficiaries were drawn from the 34 Local Government Areas of the state and would be trained on GSM repairs, soap and pomade making, cosmetology among others.

He added that the training was designed to stimulate business initiatives of the target beneficiaries so as to enable them identify opportunities so that they could create wealth and enhance their socio – economic status.

The State Coordinator assured that the training will provide an avenue for self reliance in addition to providing the participants with the ability to put their potentials into practice and reduce the growing rate of unemployment among the youths.

The Director-General, NDE, Alhaji Mohammed Ladan said the training was in line with the present administration’s commitment towards addressing the unemployment trend in the country.

He therefore added that the participants would be provided with a starter pack and a token amount to start their closing businesses.
