NEMA calls for collaboration in Kano State

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has called for a stronger synergy and collaboration among all stakeholders in disaster management.

This statement was made known by the NEMA North-West zonal co-ordinator Mr. Ishaya Isah Chonoko, in Kano, during a one-day staff retreat, tagged, ”Re-engineering the Agency for effective and proactive disease management”, aimed at keeping the staff of the Agency abreast in their responsibility.

Mr. Ishaya said NEMA was concerned about strengthening collaborative relationship with stakeholders as disaster management needed a strong and effective collaboration.

He further explained that, NEMA had embarked on the sensitization and awareness campaign of major stake holders in disaster management, due to the rise in crimes in the region.

The coordinator added that, at the wake of increasing trend of the outlined threats, the retreat became necessary to bring the staff of the Agency to speed up effectively, in disaster management.
