The Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) has described the Office of the Surveyor General of the Federation (OSGoF) as highly consequential to national reconstruction and sustainable development of the country.

NIS President, Surv. Dr. Kayode Oluwamoteru and Chairman NIS Board of Fellows, Surv. Chief Anthony Ike Ashiofu gave this description during their courtesy visit on the Acting Surveyor General of the Federation (SGoF) at the Survey House in Abuja recently.

The importance of the Office according to them could not be overemphasized because it remains the repository of information of the size of the country’s land and all therein necessary for any planning and actions for progress.

While pledging NIS’s support and cooperation to the leadership of OSGoF, they remarked that the surveyors were solution providers and must be sought after for the genuine development of any enterprises.

Responding, the Acting Surveyors General of the Federation (SGoF), Surv. Abduganiyu Adeyemi Adebomehin pledged OSGoF’s collaboration with NIS to ensure global and best practices in the field of surveying and geo-informatics in the country.

He said OSGoF would ensure to make use of only professionals for the government to get value for its money noting that Nigeria remains the only country we all have and that we must do all that was necessary to deliver the best.
