OHCSF Reiterates the Need for PPP in the Civil Service

ABUJA (OHCSF Report)  The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, has reiterated the need for partnership and collaboration between the Public and Private Sectors to move the Public Service to the desired International Level.

She made this call during a meeting with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) on Wednesday, 31st July, 2019 in Abuja.

Mrs. Oyo-Ita said that the Administrative Cadre handles the resources (talents) of government hence, the need to clean it up and make it fully professional. She therefore appealed for expertise training on technological advancement for the cadre.

She sought for partnership, collaboration and support with CIPM in the following areas: Sponsorship of Civil Servants to local and other partner Institutions; Internship Opportunities for Civil Servants in Partnership Institutions /Agencies for the LEAD-P Programme; Advisory for Performance Management System; Culture Change; Data Analysis etc., Support for development and implementation of pre-retirement programmes;  Support for access to World Class Learning  Portals; Improved task competencies in services; Value driven Civil Service and improved Enterprise Content Management System.

Earlier in his speech, the President of CIPM, Mr Wale Adediran, expressed the desire and willingness of CIPM to support the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to drive the vision of the 2017-2020 Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan for a modern civil service.

He therefore pledged the readiness of the Institute to help the Office in the area of capacity building workshop for Civil Servants in all the States of the Federation and the professionalism of the administrative/personnel cadre
