Peace, Security And Stability In Abia, One Of My Greatest Legacies… Ikpeazu

FIC Report (Abia State) – Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says he would be remembered for peace and security of our people during his time as Governor in addition to various monumental projects he has done in the State in the past seven years of his administration.

Governor Ikpeazu stated this during the unveiling and public presentation of a book “The Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Trajectory – AN EYE-WITNESS ACCOUNT” written by Sam Hart, Esq, in honour of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, at the Michael Ọkpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

The Governor informed that he would like to be remembered for the construction of the interchange at Osisioma Junction, which he built to manage traffic challenges and encourage ease of doing business in Aba, connecting the major markets in Aba through road constructions and reconstructions, adding that the inter connectivity created speaks volumes of the GDP of the State.

According to Governor Ikpeazu, other landmark projects he would love to be remembered for were the building of Industries for Shoe and Garment production, conceptualization of the Abia State Long Term Development Plan that would last till 2050, the Master Plan for Aba, Umuahia and Ohafia, sponsoring over 26 young men to study overseas amongst others.

While describing the Author, Sam Hart, as a resilient young man, Governor Ikpeazu said Hart is qualified to be called an eye-witness of his trajectory in the governance of the State as he has been a very close AIde to him.

He recommended the book for everyone who is desirous of knowledge, especially about Abia State.

Reviewing the book, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo disclosed that the book, which has 289 pages with 55 articles chronicled all the proceses that led to the towering achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the last seven years as the Governor of Abia State.

Dr. Eze Chikamnayo described the Governor as the Rebuilder of Abia State, who prioritized local production, Tele-Health, Geriatric care, School Feeding Programme, among other innovatives and said the Governor has through his visionary and pragmatic leadership approach affected many lives of Abians positively. He commended the author for truly giving an eye-witness account of the administrative trajectory of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and urged all to get the book.

In their goodwill messages, the State Executive Council represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem, the Secretary of ALGON and Executive Chairman of Isuikwuato LGA, Chima Agbaeze , the Sole Administrator, ASOPADEC, Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley, the State Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, amongst others stated that the book speaks to the achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Presenting the book to the public, the Chairman of the occasion, Sir Dr. Chris Ike, the immediate past President of the Abia State National Association of North America.

commended the Governor for being diligent in all he has done for the people of State, especially in leading a most peaceful State in Nigeria today.

He said giving an eye witness account about the Governor would take a life time but pointed out that, the Governor has performed greatly in various sectors of the economy including ensuring the shipping of various equipment both medical and other facilities from abroad to add value to healthcare and development of the people and appreciated the work done by the Author.

Earlier in his speech, the Author and General Manager, Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency (ASMQMA) and Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Communications, Barr. Sam Hart explained that the book is an eye witness account of the Governor’s activities and contributions to the development of Abia State. He said he was motivated to write the book considering the fact that the Governor is an enigma who has done well in office and whose contributions must be chronicled for the posterity.

Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, PhD, President of the Abia State Customary Court of Appeal, Hon Justice Okey Nwamuo, Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, Hrm Eze Joseph Nwabeke, State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Apostle General Agomuoh, Pro Chancellor of the Abia State University, Chief Mba Ukariwo, President of the East Nigeria Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Professor B O Udoh were also amongst other top dignitaries who witnessed the event.
