The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture has condoled with the Management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and the family of Mr. Azariah Kucha on the death of the veteran journalist.

In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, the Permanent Secretary, Deaconess Grace Isu-Gepke, described the deceased as a courageous journalist, who made his mark as a proponent of social justice.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of such a courageous journalist, who made his mark as a proponent of social justice, democracy, liberty, peace and development.

“He will be sorely missed by his fans and admirers because of his immense sense of humor and the panache he brought to bear on a distinguished career in radio journalism, which spanned for over thirty years,” she said.

Deaconess Gekpe commiserated with the family of Mr. Kucha and the FRCN where he excelled as a broadcast journalist.

“The death of Mr. Kucha is a huge loss to his family, the journalism profession and the FRCN, where he excelled in his life time. However, I urge you to take solace in the fact that the deceased left his footprints in the sands of time,” she said.

The Permanent Secretary prayed God to repose the soul of the deceased and also grant his family and colleagues the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
