Political Office Holders challenged on Peace, Security, Unity of the Nation

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – Political office holders in the country has been challenged on the need to rise up to their responsibilities of ensuring peace, security and national cohesion, as the 2023 general election draws nearer.

His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto and President General Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar lll made this known While Speaking at the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Emir of Azara Dr. Muhammad Kabiru Ibrahim on the throne as the 13th Emir of Azara, Awe local government area of Nasarawa state recently.

The Sultan who is also the Chairman, Northern traditional rulers’ council, called on political office holders especially, governors across the Country to rise up to the challenges of insecurity bedeviling parts of the country.

He expressed concern over the rising security challenges in the country, ranging from kidnapping banditry and reprisal attacks on innocent citizens in parts of the nation, said that, political office holders have a great role to play in addressing the Security threat across the Nation.

The monarch explained that despite the heterogeneous nature of the nation, expressed believe that the country will continue to remain United.

Governor Abdullahi of Nasarawa state in his remarked congratulated the celebrant for clocking 20 years on the throne of his ancestors, saying that, the attendance of the personalities at the occasion is a clear demonstration of peace unity and oneness of the country devoid of ethnics, religious and political inclination.

Governor Sule noted that the peace and Unity being enjoyed by people of Nasarawa state during his administration was as a result of the immense Contributions of traditional rulers

Also speaking, the former Governor of Akwa Ibom state and minister of Niger Delta affairs Sen. Godswill Akpabio acknowledged the good relationship created by the Emir of Azara between Akwa Ibom and Nasarawa state, while describing it is a clear testimony that Nigeria will remain indivisible Nation.

In his vote of thanks, the Emir of Azara Dr. Kabiru Musa Ibrahim who is also the celebrant, acknowledged the Contributions of governor Abdullahi Sule, his Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa,ad Abubakar lll, as well as traditional rulers and others dignitaries that attended the occasion.

The occasion was climax with the Inauguration of free medical outreach by the Sultan foundation.
