ABUJA (OHCSF’s Report)- The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita has said that the Federal Civil Service is to provide a fundamental framework for ‘Made in Nigeria’ in line with the change agenda of the present administration.

Oyo-Ita who stated this recently at the National Economic Summit held in Abuja, said that the framework to be provided by the service would be centered on Human Capacity Development through investment in infrastructure and strengthening of the capacity of Management Development Institutes (MDI) such as Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), and Center For Management Development (CMD) to help boost our service delivery and enhance economic development in the country.

The HOS stressed that her office has already developed 2016-2019 strategic plan for the Federal Civil Service (FCS), to be perceived as a cost center to revenue earners so as to further enhance value for money in government expenditures, eliminate leakages and wastages in Public Financial Procurement System to ensure less dependence of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Speaking earlier, the Former Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Mr. Eugene Jowah in his address said that, they need government support to provide an enabling environment for investors in order to enhance infrastructural development.
