Rafindadi, others receive OSHASSOCIATION UK Fellowship Award

The Managing Director/CEO, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Nuruddeen A. Rafindadi FNSE, FAEng, FNAHS and other management staff of the Agency has received OSHAssociation award. The fellowship award was conferred on them by the Regional President, OSHAssociation UK today the 26th of October, 2021 at the Agency’s Headquarters, Abuja.

The Managing Director, represented by the Executive Director, Planning and Engineering Services, Engr. Abubakar Ismail, in his opening remarks said, that FERMA appreciated the Association for the recognition given to the Agency. He said, OSHAssociation UK was at the right place at the right time as FERMA is an engineering setup which takes safety measures as a priority in the discharge of her duties.

Rafindadi added that the recognition would further boost and propel the Agency to do more in terms of safety in all her activities to avoid occupational hazards.  He pledged the Agency’s full support to OSHAssocaition.

Earlier, the Regional President, OSHAssociation UK, HRH Dr. Ambassador, Aderemi Olusegun congratulated the Managing Director and other FERMA Management staff for adhering and priotizing safety guidelines in the course of discharging her mandate.

He said the awardees who are all people of high caliber, decision makers and experts in their various areas deserve the award as they are the brain behind the success of the Agency which is a critical sector in road construction, as its activities is seen across the nation monitoring and maintaining federal roads. Explaining, he said the reason for the fellowship award was to drive the mission, vision and goals of OSHAssociation and to leverage on resources in order to ensure safer work place and environment.

The OSHAssociation UK Regional Administrator, Engr. Emmanuel Uwalaka said that the objective of the Association is to promote the interest of members and foster their close ties and relationship with other OSHAssociation members worldwide, and to also promote the development of professional best practices on occupational safety and health service delivery in societies and industries.

Other objectives he said include, carrying out advocacy and awareness campaigns on occupational safety and health in the society, contributing and expressing its views on all related regulations, policies and legislature on occupational safety and health in any region, to cooperate with public, private and corporate bodies with similar aims and objectives in the region and globally, and to join leading organizations in the promotion and advancement of occupational safety and health in societies and industries.

Buba Silas Abdullahi, Executive Director, East Operations, Vincent Oladapo Kolawole, Executive Director, Finance & Accounts, Engr. Abubakar Ismail, Executive Director, Planning and Engineering Services, Muhammad Gambo Bizi, Executive Director, Administration & Human Resource.
