RE-APPOINTED MEDICAL DIRECTORS TASKED TO CONSOLIDATE ON PREVIOUS ACHIEVEMENTS

The Honourable Minister of State for Health, Hon. Joseph Ekumankama has conveyed the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to Dr. Mustapha Yaro and Dr. Aliyu Balarabe on their reappointment as Medical Directors of their Institutions, in a brief ceremony held on the 10th of November 2022, at the Federal Ministry of Health Headquarters in Abuja.

The appointment of Dr. Mustapha Yaro as Medical Director of the National Ear Care Centre Kaduna, Kaduna State was renewed for a second and final term of four (4) years with effect from 16th August, 2022. While Dr. Aliyu Balarabe, was renewed as Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State for a second and final term of four (4) years with effect from 10th January 2023.

While conveying the letters to the Medical Directors, Hon. Ekumankama reminded them of the enormous responsibilities ahead and tasked them to consolidate and improve upon their previous achievements to justify the confidence reposed in them. He charged them to ensure that the systems at their hospitals be made better. “Make it better make services available to the people, form teams with your staff, for you to succeed you must carry everybody along. Operate an all-inclusive open door policy, create a good working atmosphere and work in unity of purpose with all stakeholders”.

The Minister of State further reiterated Federal Government’s determination to restructure, re-strategize and reposition all medical institutions in the country in terms of administration and human capital development to meet up with global standards.

Dr. Mustapha Yaro who was appreciative, thanked Mr. President and the Ministry of Health for finding him worthy of a second term in office. He informed that his Centre has the sole responsibility for the treatment of ear, nose and throat in the country. Dr. Yaro promised to fulfil his obligatory and statutory duties in accordance with the action plan of the health sector. Similarly, Dr. Aliyu Balarabe expressed his profound gratitude for the opportunity given to him to serve the nation for another four years. He pledged to continue to deliver quality healthcare services to Nigerians.
