Reps calls on DSTV and other service providers to introduce Pay as You Go Tariff
The House of Representatives in plenary today Tuesday March 17,2020 considered a motion on the need for multichoice (DSTV) and other service providers to introduce the pay as you go tariff plan in Nigeria.

Hon. Unyime Idem, the mover of the motion said DSTV is one of the leading Direct to Home Services Providers in Nigeria launched in 1995 with over 11.9million subscribers however DSTV has deliberately refused to implement Pay as You Go Tariff in Nigeria.

He further noted that, DSTV charges users in Nigeria a fixed monthly tariff plan compares to what is obtainable in other Countries by this same service provider where the charges are pay as you go thus it has chosen to exploit Nigerians.

The House frowns at this continuous economic sabotage to Nigerians as consumers pay for services not consume while the services providers make billions monthly at the expenses of consumers.

Therefore, the House will set up an Ad-hoc committee to liase with (NBC) National Broadcasting Commission to investigate the non-implementation of Pay as You Go Tariff plan by service providers with a view to ensure compliance.
