The Senate resolved to:

  1. That the Senate and House of Representatives do sit in a Joint Session to receive an Address by Mr. President Commander in Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 2: 00 pm on the 2020 Appropriation Bill.

The Prayer to sit in a joint session was adopted.

CONSIDERATION OF A BILL

  1. A Bill for an Act to amend the Deep offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract CAP D3 LFN 2004 Act and other matters connected thereto, 2019 (SB.22) – Second Reading

Second reading taken and referred to Petroleum Resources Up- Stream; Gas and Finance Committees respectively to be led by Petroleum Resources Up- Stream  to report back in a week.

MOTIONS

  1. The need to ensure immediate commencement of the Oil and Gas Research Centre and Museum, Oloibiri, Bayelsa State

The Senate resolved to:

  1. Commend the Federal Government for the conceptualization, design and award of contract for the establishment of the Oil and Gas Research Centre and Museum in Oloibiri, the First Oil field in Nigeria to promote tourism and improve socio-economic wellbeing of the people;
  2. Urge the Federal Government to give priority attention to the development of heritage institutions such as Oloibiri Oil and Gas Research Centre and Museum as a constant reminder and enrichment of the history of our socio-economic development; and
  • Direct relevant Senate Committees to carry out intensive oversight on the implementation of this project.

All Prayers were adopted as Recommended

  1. The need for the Federal Government of Nigeria to utilize and integrate Traditional Medicine into the National Health System to ensure affordable health care.

The Prayer to move to the joint session was adopted.
