The Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum H. E Timipre Sylva has applauded the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for his doggedness during the most trying period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Minister made the commendation at the 3rd Value Chain Magazine Lecture and Award Ceremony held at the Fraser Suites, Abuja where he received the Value Chain Award of Excellence. Mr. Sylva, who was Special Guest OF Honour at the event was represented by his Special Adviser on Media, Mallam Garba Deen Muhammad.
Sylva said it was a miracle that even though crude oil was selling at historic low prices globally, the NNPC’s remittances to the Federation Account had remained consistent. This he attributed to the pragmatism, prudence and steadfastness of the NNPC helmsman and his Team of committed staff.
He added that with such exemplary leadership of Mallam Mele Kyari, the Corporation is bound to witness the much needed reform that will send it to enviable height.
