Victims Of Flood Get 40m Relief Materials In Sokoto

SOKOTO (FIC Sokoto Report) – Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, of Sokoto State, presented relief materials worth N40 million to the District Head of Katam, as well as representatives of the District Head of Silame and Gande.

He however assured that his administration would provide more relief materials to the flood victims in view of the severity of the situation.

In his remark, the District Head of Katami, Alhaji Usman Garba Katami, appealed to the Sokoto State Governor, to construct three kilometer road, that linked the area to Kebbi State.

The relief material are meant to be distributed to over 9,000 families affected by flood in Salame Local government Area of the State.

While distributing these items, the Governor cautioned the people of the state to eschew building structures on water ways and dumping refuse in drainage, as these would trigger the occurrence of flood.

Among the relief items provided to the victims are rice, maize, millet, guinea corn and clothing materials.
