The Minister of industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah has called on the newly inaugurated members of board of Parastatals and Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to collaborate with the Federal Government through the mandate of the Ministry to deliver on the change mantra of the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

While stating that “This Administration is committed to address the change mantra which is improving security, tackling corruption and revitalizing the economy, the Minister charged the new Board Members and Chairmen to help give  the mandate of the Ministry which is to promote economic growth, investing in our people and building a competitive economy, a new impetus.

The inauguration of the Board Chairmen and Members took place at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, today, 1st March, 2018.

Enelamah disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment is playing a pivotal role in the implementation of the economic recovery and growth plan, as he said that the Ministry currently oversees seventeen Parastatals and agencies including the newly created National Office for Trade Negotiation (NOTN) which was approved on the 10th May, 2017 by the Federal Executive Council.

The Minister also enumerated the roles and responsibilities of the board members which he said are essentially to drive general policies, formulation for implementation by the management teams of your respective agencies. “You are therefore, expected to provide policy guidelines, approve operational targets, and ensure efficient management of resources to achieve the set targets of your Parastatals and Agencies”.

The Minister also admonished the members to work closely with the management of the Ministry for overall policy guidance and monitoring.
