Youth and Sports Ministry To Partner With SAED Connect to Alleviate Youth Idleness In Nigeria – Dalung

The Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Barr. Solomon Dalung recently played host to the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development the (SAED) members of the Organization who came to showcase a platform designed to solve youth unemployment using Information Communication Technology (ICT).

The Hon. Minister with delight said that the initiative is a step in the right direction. He further said that any venture that will address youth unemployment is a welcome development and charged the private, religious and traditional institutions to leave no stone unturned in alleviating the youth unemployment which is the bane of the youth vices and negative manipulation.

Speaking at the occasion, he advised that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members should develop skills while in camp which they will fall back on after their service year. He recalled the ugly involvement of youths in some countries as a result of unemployment and tasked the youth of the country to take the advantage of ICT that abound to fight social vices.

Barr. Solomon Dalung, promised that Youth and Sport Ministry is readily available to use the robust partnership to engage experts for the succor of the youth.

During the presentation three major areas where highlighted, they are Capacity Building, Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition which makes SAED CONNECT relevant to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Earlier the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Segun Araromi briefed the Hon. Minister on various initiatives created since its inception in 2012 and in 2015 had had partnership with International Labour Organisation and Central Bank of Nigeria inclusive.
