Youth & Sports Ministry will collaborate with IMMI to create Job Opportunities for Nigerian Youths

The Federal Ministry of Youth & Sports Development will collaborate with the Information Marketing and Management Institute (IMMI) to generate and create job opportunities for the youths, in line with the agenda of the present administration on job creation and inclusion.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Adesola Olusade made this remark when the board and management team of the IMMI paid him a courtesy visit . While expressing his pleasure receiving the management  in the Conference Room of the Ministry recently,  Mr Olusade emphasized that their  presentation is very germane to the efforts of the present administration’s policy of empowering the Youths for job creation.

He explained that the Ministry has twelve (12nos.) Centres for Vocational Skills and Youth Empowerment spread across the country,with no less than 400 Youths graduating in different skills acquisition for entrepreneurial ventures within the first quarter of this year, more so it’s a strategic means of job creation for the teeming youths. To achieve more a multi-sectoral intervention is required On this note, the Permanent Secretary directed that the Education and Youth Enterprise Department of the Ministry will collaborate and partner with the Information Marketing and Management Institute for capacity building in digital tools for jobless youths in the country.

During his presentation to the Permanent Secretary and management staff of the Ministry , the Chairman and Chief Executive of the IMMI, Dr. Aloefuna revealed that the Institute was established in 2014  as a professional body for the standard practice and development of Information Management; with the primary objective of using Information technology in every facet of human endeavours e.g agriculture, ecology, entrepreneurial skills etc for national development.

Dr. Aloefuna further stated that  youths need proper guidance in their skills and capacity development to know where and how to harness resources for their own advantage. It is therefore against this backdrop that the Institute is proposing to work with the Ministry towards training the Nigerian Youths in ideation development and capacity building.
